Who is the Better Copyist?

Comparing William and Mary in MS A

MS A consists of a copied text in the hands of both William and Mary Wordsworth.

Mary makes fewer errors than William in copying. However, we also have a far smaller sample of her work in MS A.

William and Mary make different kinds of error.

William makes many more accidental errors. All the "Freudian slips" are his. What does this suggest? Perhaps that he is still thinking "creatively" whilst he copies, whereas Mary is more directly focussed upon the practicalities of the act.
