Hutchinson, Sara (1775-1835). - Letter, from Keswick, to Edward Quillinan (1791-1851), at Lee Priory, Nr Wingham, Kent, dated 15 March 1827. WLL / Hutchinson, Sara / 2 / 123a.
Keswick My dear Friend I hope you are either still at Oporto or safely returned and snugly seated with your Darlings at Lee Priory - for the stormy winds have blown terrifically here for the whole of the last fortnight - and this is about the time you specified for your return. The day on which your Letter reached Rydal I had forwarded to you a supply of winter stockings by Miss Dowling, & they were left for you in Town - at her Brothers in Palsgrave Place - somewhere about Temple Bar - so when you are in Town you will find them there, if you think them worth the trouble of enquiring after. We have not sent off your Effects from Rydal - & I write now to beg that you will inform us, without delay, of your return - that they may be forwarded immediately - as we thought it hazardous to leave them in a warehouse for an indefinite time - and you may receive them in 10 days after we know that you are ready to receive them. I write in great haste - & not knowing when you may read this I have not patience to enter into particulars - but I must say that we are all sorry that you are going to fash yourself with business, & to coop the Darlings up in Town - but if so we wish you all possible success - I have been here a fortnight [page break (2)]

I do not suppose he will make a long stay - All Friends at Rydal are well except poor Dora - We think if you have not a fancy for your own very copy of the [[?]] that you had best offer it to Tillbrook, & he buy you [[-?-]] another - which would save Carriage & the risk of accident to both of you - Kindest love from every body at R. to you & the Trotts - Pray write soon - for we are very desirous of news - God bless you & excuse this scrawl.
