Small notebook of miscellanous descriptions and notes by Dorothy Wordsworth including her Grasmere journal from February 14 to May 2 1802 in her hand. Front cover of the notebook is written 'Diaries'. Also contains fragments of essays and verse by William Wordsworth in his hand, leaves 68-72 are just stubs. Contents include Dorothy's Hamburg journal and drafts towards 'The Prelude', for example 'Nutting' and 'There was a Boy'. Size 148mm x 95mm (hxw).



Small notebook bound in boards, originally made of 96 leaves in gatherings of 16, 7 leaves have been torn out. Watermark is two warriors and PRO PATRIA.
